Nope, Not Today Cancer was born from love, loss, and a deep understanding of what it truly means to face colon cancer. Our founder is an oncology nurse who has spent years caring for patients and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. This mission became deeply personal when she lost her husband to colon cancer. What she experienced as a nurse—and what she endured as a wife—revealed the same heartbreaking truth: while cancer treatment focuses on the disease, patients and families are often left to shoulder the emotional, financial, and practical burdens alone. She saw it from both sides of the exam room.Missed paychecks. Endless appointments. Emotional exhaustion. The pressure to stay strong when everything feels uncertain. Even with medical expertise and access to care, the gaps in support were impossible to ignore.Out of that loss came purpose.Nope, Not Today Cancer was created to stand in those gaps—providing local colon cancer patients and their families with meaningful, tangible support right when it’s needed most. From easing financial stress to offering resources and connection, our work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and real-life understanding. We believe cancer may change a life—but it should never take away hope, community, or support.Every program we build, every dollar raised, and every partnership formed is driven by one simple belief: no one should fight colon cancer alone. This is more than a nonprofit. It’s personal. It’s purposeful. It’s a promise—to patients, families, and loved ones—that they are seen, supported, and never alone.Together, we say: Nope, Not Today Cancer.
